There is no doubt that first impressions count especially when trying to decide on a cover for your book. I often bypass books if they are not bright enough or I don’t fancy the cover. If I like the cover and the title, I’ll read the blurb. If I like the blurb, I’ll read the first page. If i like the first page, I’ll buy the book.

I am not alone. Why I am I pointing out the obvious? I am having a meltdown trying to decide what is more appealing for a front cover for a collection of short stories dealing with the darker side of love. No more clues at this point but I really need your opinion. Please tell me what you think. Don’t hold back.

Also, please remember these are very rough examples. I am only trying to work out what appeals most. They do not represent the final result. So, which of these images would make you most likely to pick up the book? Please leave your comments below and tell me what sort of cover would attract you most.
