If you are from the West Midlands in the UK you’ll know the ‘Buffalo’ joke. It doesn’t work on paper and requires a Brummy accent but is rather amusing. Bostin is a local word too that means ‘great’ or ‘terrific’. Why am I telling you all this? Because I am practising this local dialect. Later today, (2.15pm UK time to be precise) I’ll be on a very friendly radio station that you can listen to online.
102.5 The ‘Bridge is local radio station for people who live in the Black Country. (You lovely folk from the US will have to Google that.)
As it says on their website:
“We’ve the best mix of music from the 60s to the present day. From the Rolling Stones to Rihanna, the Beatles to Bruno Mars and Drifters to David Guetta – you’ll hear it all and so much more on 102.5 The ’Bridge.
Most of all, we’re truly local. We’re not sitting in a studio in London, frantically Googling ‘Dudley’, ‘Halesowen’ and ‘Stourbridge’ to see what’s happening – we can see that out of the window and that’s reflected in the shows, the guests, the community information, the presenters, the news, the sport and our passion for local home-made Black Country music sitting alongside the best new releases and songs from yester-year.
So tune in to Phil Dent’s show at 2.15pm today wherever you live and listen? It’ll give you a flavour of the Midlands. I might even tell you the buffalo joke. It’ll be a bostin show.
Tune in at 2.15 pm by clicking the link below and then the ‘Listen Live’ button on the website.
Almost forgot…the How Not to Murder Your Grumpy Tour stop is with Bookalicious today and also is reviewed at Lou Graham’s blog. Read what she has to say by clicking HERE. Loved her description of it. She sums it up in one word…one you have never heard before.
